Having A Magical Time
Nikki is in her element when connecting with the audience. She started presenting for television at the age of 15, and has since worked with Disney Channel, FOX Sports, NatGeoPeople, Yahoo, Channel NewsAsia - you name it.
Her most recent venture, however, is the theater. Nikki, who has been represented by the Fly Entertainment Group since 2011, made her debut on the Singapore stage with Michael Chiang's original play, High Class. Nikki understands all too well how vital the audience experience is, for a successful production. As a frequent patron of Marina Bay Sands' Sands Theatre, Nikki has seen of the biggest acts in the world. Ranking high on her list is illusionist and magician Paul Cosentino's Anything Is Possible show.
Nikki was tasked to inspect the chains and locks that kept the magician himself inside a glass box, which was later filled up with water. “It was intense! I was riveted, bewildered, terrified and awestruck at the same time,” says Nikki. “It doesn’t hurt that he’s an absolute looker too.”
The versatility of the theaters at Marina Bays Sands also allows for more than just death defying magic shows, from productions like The Lion King and Mamma Mia! to past headliners like Wicked and The Phantom of the Opera. "I enjoy the setting and the atmosphere at the Sands Theatre," Nikki explains. "It's large - yet feels very intimate." For larger-than-life performances, the stalls on the second level are Nikki's favorite. "It gives the experience a lovely dimension. You want to be able to absorb the splendor of the set, especially for the big theatrical numbers."
